TEDx UDESC: Short, High-Value, High-Impact Talks

UDESC will hold this Tuesday, 19th, starting at 6 pm, at the Integrated Culture Center (CIC), in Florianópolis, an official TEDx event: TEDxUdesc. Under the theme “Bridges” – an analogy to the city’s landmark – the event will bring together innovative ideas, inspiring speakers, and cultural attractions that connect knowledge, experience, and creativity in Floripa.

What are TEDx events?

First and foremost, TEDx events are an extension of the world-famous TED conferences. Organized independently, but with the same mission: to share ideas worth spreading. These short, impactful talks, limited to 18 minutes, cover a wide range of topics.

Key topics include new technologies, sports and performance, urban planning and cities, culture, politics and society, health and much more.

The globally recognized TED brand lends each TEDx event a high standard of credibility and excellence. Furthermore, the innovative format facilitates audience engagement, generating relevant dialogue and promoting practical changes in society.

What will TEDx UDESC be like?

TEDx UDESC will follow the classic TED format, with talks of up to 18 minutes, divided into two sections:

• First block: from 6pm to 7:15pm.
• Second block: from 7:30 pm to 9 pm.

The main theme, “Bridges,” will explore connections between eight key areas of Udesc’s university extension:

• Fernanda Bornhausen – Specialist in neuroscience and lifestyle.
• Flavia Martins – Ombudsman judge of the STF, focusing on accessibility to justice.

• Octavio Lebarbenchon – Professor of Administration and innovative executive.

What cultural attractions will accompany the event?

In addition to the talks, TEDx UDESC will feature a rich cultural program, including:

• Closing with the band Dazaranha, an icon of Santa Catarina music.

What is TEDx UDESC Kids?

One of this year's new features is TEDx UDESC Kids. This pre-event is dedicated to children ages 8 to 12. During the afternoon, approximately 600 students from local schools will participate in workshops on citizenship, innovation, and sustainability, as well as musical and interactive activities.

Therefore, this initiative reinforces TEDx's commitment to developing a new generation of leaders and critical thinkers, offering a creative and educational space.
